Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials, ensuring precise measurements, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial spaces, utilizing a range of construction skills and tools. Candidates with a strong background in construction and a keen eye for detail will thrive in this position.

Duties

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions to ensure accurate flooring placement.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments or adhesives.
Install flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or carpet according to project specifications.
Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during installation processes.
Measure spaces accurately to cut materials precisely and minimize waste.
Perform related tasks such as caulking seams, sealing edges, and finishing surfaces for a polished look.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure quality standards are met.
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
Assist with other construction-related tasks such as carpentry, masonry, or restoration work as needed.

Skills

Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate installation planning.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to flooring installation.
Knowledge of construction processes including concrete forming, concrete finishing, and masonry is a plus.
Ability to interpret construction estimating documents and schematics for precise material calculations.
Strong carpentry skills including cabinet installation and construction painting are advantageous.
Familiarity with caulking techniques for sealing seams and edges effectively.
Electrical experience or plumbing knowledge is beneficial for integrated projects involving multiple trades.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments.
Attention to detail, safety consciousness, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
