Team: Employment and Education Services staff team
Location: Central Okanagan
Schedule: Full-Time; flexibility required to meet program and community needs

Employment and education services play a critical role in helping individuals overcome barriers, develop skills, and build meaningful futures. Through strong leadership and collaboration, this role ensures YMCA programs remain responsive, impactful, and accessible to the people who need them most.

By leading high-quality services and supporting a dedicated team, you will help create positive outcomes for youth, adults, families, employers, and community partners while advancing the YMCA's mission of building healthy and connected communities.

What You Will Do

Lead the strategic development, delivery, and continuous improvement of employment and education programs throughout the Central Okanagan.

Provide leadership for employment, education, and life-skills programming that supports youth and adults.
Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, legal, and YMCA requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
Monitor program performance, outcomes, evaluations, and reporting requirements.
Oversee and monitor program budgets and resource allocation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, employment service providers, government partners, YMCA staff, and volunteers.
Coach, mentor, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service and program excellence.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance development, and supervision of direct reports.
Support hiring and staff development initiatives across the department as required.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation to achieve strategic objectives and long-term program goals.
Foster a culture of philanthropy, collaboration, community engagement, and service to others.
Respond effectively to changing priorities and perform additional duties as required.

What You Bring

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Employment Services, Career Development, Social Work, Human Services, or Youth and Adult Skills Development.
Minimum five years of experience working with youth and adults in employment or community-based programs.
Demonstrated management and supervisory experience leading staff within employment services or community programs.
Experience developing and delivering community-based programming in partnership with community agencies and service providers.
Strong business writing skills, including experience preparing reports, proposals, and business plans.
Strong administration, customer service, computer, and office management skills.
Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
