Full job description

The Job

As the Host/Support Staff, you create the first impression of AquaTerra, warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth seating flow. You’ll also assist with room service and take-out orders, helping deliver a seamless, guest-focused dining experience.

*This position is being posted to fiil a current vacancy in our organization.

What You'll Do

Create a positive, professional, and welcoming impression for all guests.
Manage the flow of the dining room and lounge to ensure smooth seating and service transitions.
Operate the computerized point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
Assign tables, seat guests promptly, and present menus with warmth and professionalism.
Answer the telephone courteously and assist with inquiries, reservations, and take-out orders.
Prepare and complete guest orders from the Grab ’n Go bar and take-out service.
Deliver room service orders promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation standards are met.
Conduct floor sweeps to collect trays, dishes, and glassware from hotel lobbies and public areas.
Coordinate with other departments to arrange special requests and ensure a seamless experience for VIP and Elite guests.
Assist in clearing and cleaning tables to prepare for the next guests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, dining areas, and service zones.
Demonstrate hotel and brand standards of service at all times.
Provide guests with up-to-date information on restaurant promotions, hotel amenities, and local events.

The above areas of responsibility are not all inclusive and may be amended from time to time.

Who We're Looking For

Minimum Grade 10 education
Previous server/host experience
Smart Serve certification required
Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Possess a high degree of enthusiasm, initiative, and professionalism
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining tact and diplomacy
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests.
Must be flexible to mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidaysa
