Full job description

Job Title: Fabricator
Location: Whitchurch Stouffville, ON

Major Intersection: York Durham Line & Anderson Blvd

Working Days: Monday – Friday

Shifts: 07:00 Am – 04:00 Pm

Pay Rate: $20/hr

Duties & Responsibilities:

Receive fabrication drawings from Production Supervisor.
Check fabrication package for: o complete package including accessories, accuracy of information, special requirements prior to cutting material, cutting list if supplied is accurate, compare against Fabrication drawings, fabrication drawings coincide with Architectural drawings (quick check)
Attend production meetings when / if required
Fabricating and constructing metal components
Check shop work orders to ensure they are being completed in a timely manner as per customer requirements
Ensure work orders are signed by employee who handles the request
Ensure machinery is in safe working condition by lubrication, cleaning etc.
Report any concerns to the Shop Manager
Ensure work area is kept clean daily: Floors are kept clear of any debris
Electrical cords wrapped and put away o Ensure Workplace Health & Safety policy is followed
Follow the company policies, goals and objectives for the Company and the Production Department
All employees must always be wearing proper footwear and hearing / eye protection when required
Reads and interprets shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation
Selects, positions, and secures dies, and fixtures onto machine, using rule, square, shims, templates, hand tools, and built-in gauges when required
Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes
Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates to ensure quality products
Lifts work piece manually and positions and secures it on machine table in holding fixture
Changes worn bending and cutting tools as required Maintain work area and shop tools / equipment
Run a first piece sample at the beginning of each shift to ensure the calibration and quality of selected machines
Other job duties as assigned – Mainly duties with residential service work
Responsible to be the main contact from the shop to assist when called upon

Requirements:

1. Must have experience with Fabrication, blueprints 2-3 years

2. Must be comfortable working in Windows and Doors Manufacturing environment

3. Must have knowledge of reading blueprints

4. Must be good in communication and Safety shoes/ mask required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00 per hour
