Job Summary

Join Infinity Network Solutions' dynamic team as a Network Operations and Security Level 1 Technician, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and securing client network infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in network management, cybersecurity, and system support within a fast-paced environment. The Network Operations and Security Technician Level 1 is responsible for monitoring, identifying, and responding to alerts and issues within client networks, systems, and security environments in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting. The Technician role is highly client-focussed and the ideal candidate will have a drive to push for resolution of issues. The role focuses on ensuring uptime, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure while escalating complex issues to higher-tier technicians. The Network Operations and Security Technician also plays a key role in identifying recurring problems, improving processes, and assisting with project implementations. Strong analytical, communication, and technical skills are essential for success in this role as is an ability to participate in an on-call rotation as well as participate in on-site work as required.

Duties

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

· Identify, triage, and respond to alerts, including system failures, performance issues, and security threats.

· Perform initial diagnosis of incidents; resolving or escalating incidents based on complexity.

· Document all incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions identified in the PSA tool.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems involving operating systems, applications, and hardware.

· Triage and escalate security incidents such as malware infections, unauthorized access, and suspicious activity, using industry standard security tools.

· Where appropriate, deal effectively with customer calls.

· Follow process workflows to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Monitoring and Analysis:

· Monitor client systems, networks, and applications using Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.

· Ensure monitoring alerts are dealt with in a timely manner.

· Provide first contact triage and coordination to clients for critical and high impact alerts.

· Communicate effectively with internal and client/partner stakeholders to meet and improve deliverables.

· Provide day-to-day operational support to users and technicians.

· Create and maintain documentation, procedures and work instructions.

· Deploy, maintain, and tune network monitoring and security tools

· Analyze logs, alerts, and trends to proactively identify potential issues or threats.

· Perform basic root cause analysis(RCA) for recurring issues and propose long-term solutions.

Requirements

Education and Continuing Education:

· Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· Maintain current certifications as required and obtain additional certifications related to new technologies as part of INS' focus on continuous eduction.

Experience:

· 2–4 years of experience in IT support, NOC/SOC operations or similar technical roles, at least 1 year MSP.

· Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment or with multi-client IT support is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.

· Sound knowledge of and experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, macOS) and system administration.

· Experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.

· Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V) and cloud technologies like Azure.

· Strong understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.

Soft Skills:

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.

· Ability to switch focus and manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Certifications:

· CompTIA Security+, Network+

· MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator
