Groundskeeper — Multi-Building Residential Community
Mayfair Court · 246 Units / 9 Buildings · Joining a 3-Person Grounds Team
Location: Richmond, BC
Job Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Hourly Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (occasional early starts for snow removal)
About the Property
Mayfair Court is a 246-unit residential community spread across 15 buildings in Richmond, BC. This is a larger, multi-building site — so we're looking for someone who has genuinely managed grounds at scale before, not just a single yard or small complex, and who works well as part of a coordinated team.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Community Manager, this Groundskeeper joins our existing 2-person grounds team as a third member, bringing the team to three. Together, the team is responsible for lawn care, landscaping, and seasonal maintenance across all 9 buildings, ensuring the grounds stay clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and guests. This is a hands-on outdoor role requiring physical stamina, good teamwork and communication with fellow groundskeepers, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular lawn care across all buildings, including mowing, edging, and fertilizing on a rotating schedule, working alongside the other two groundskeepers.
- Maintain flower beds and landscaping: planting, trimming, weeding, and watering as needed.
- Trim shrubs and trees (up to 6 feet) and monitor general landscape health.
- Collect and remove garbage, debris, and litter from sidewalks, lawns, and common areas across the property.
- Complete seasonal clean-up: raking leaves, clearing snow, and salting walkways (including early-morning starts during winter weather events).
- Operate and perform basic maintenance/minor repairs on landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, snowblowers, etc.).
- Coordinate daily with the other two groundskeepers to divide tasks efficiently across 15 buildings, flagging larger issues to the Community Manager.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2+ years of proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field — experience on a larger property or as part of a grounds team preferred.
- Proficient and safe with landscaping equipment (trimmers, mowers, edgers, blowers, snow equipment).
- Comfortable lifting/moving items up to 50 lbs, with prolonged walking, kneeling, bending, and crouching between buildings.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including winter mornings.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between buildings/sites as needed.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor suitable for a residential community.
- Must be able to reliably commute to or reside in Richmond, BC prior to the start date.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive hourly wage ($25.00/hour)
- Join a supportive, established 3-person grounds team
- Steady, consistent work maintaining a well-established residential community
- Take pride in creating a beautiful, welcoming outdoor space for 246 households
