Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dependable Cashier - Prep Cook Helper to join our dynamic team. This role combines customer service with food preparation duties, supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the food industry while contributing to a welcoming dining environment. We are seeking for staff who can stay with us long term (not summer only). Weekdays availability is needed.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and handle all cashier transactions efficiently
Take and process customer orders accurately at the register
Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
Support cooking activities as needed, ensuring meals are prepared according to safety and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area and kitchen stations
Follow food safety guidelines during handling, storage, and serving of food items
Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Assist with basic meal preparation tasks under the supervision of kitchen staff
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing customer needs

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and meal preparation techniques
Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds if necessary
Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and service
Prior experience in food industry roles such as cashier or prep cook is advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
