Full job description

Experienced Baker and Cake Decorator

Jeffrey’s Café is seeking an experienced and dependable Baker and Cake Decorator to join our team. The successful applicant will have a passion for creating high-quality baked goods and beautifully decorated cakes and cookies while working efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including cakes, muffins, cookies, breads and cheesecakes
Decorate cakes and cookies for the restaurant and catering events
Prepare icings, fillings, piping details and decorative finishes
Follow established recipes and Jeffrey’s quality standards
Measure, mix, prepare and bake products consistently
Complete baking and decorating orders accurately and on time
Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe workspace
Monitor ingredients and communicate inventory needs
Manage multiple products, catering orders and baking schedules efficiently
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and café teams

Required Qualifications

A minimum of three years of commercial baking experience is required
A minimum of three years of professional cake-decorating experience is also required
Experience with cookie decorating is required
Strong skills in cake preparation, icing, piping, decorating and finishing
Experience producing a wide variety of baked goods in a professional kitchen
Strong understanding of baking methods, ingredients and commercial equipment
Excellent organization and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Dependable, punctual and committed to consistent quality
Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation standards
Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including standing for extended periods and lifting ingredients and equipment

Schedule

Applicants must be available for early-morning shifts beginning at 6:00 a.m.
