Full job description

Position Summary

The Procurement Manager will lead sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies across direct and/or indirect categories. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industries, given the complexity of high velocity and changing business needs in an evolving and growing company Sourcing & Category Strategy

Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, ingredients, or indirect spend categories relevant to CPG operations.
Lead end-to-end RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations.
Build and maintain a diversified, resilient supplier base to mitigate supply chain risk.
Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and industry benchmarks to inform sourcing decisions.

Vendor & Supplier Management

Own supplier relationship management, including performance reviews, scorecards, and escalation resolution.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with key vendors.
Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality, ethical sourcing, and sustainability standards.
Identify and onboard new vendors to strengthen category coverage and reduce single-source dependency.

Cost Management & Savings

Drive year-over-year cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives across managed categories.
Partner with Finance to forecast procurement budgets and track spending against plan.
Identify opportunities for value engineering, specification changes, and consolidation of spending.

Inventory & Supply Planning

Manage inventory levels and stock accuracy to balance uninterrupted production with working capital efficiency.
Coordinate inbound supply of raw materials and packaging to ensure timely, uninterrupted availability for production.
Ensure timely invoicing and proactive cost management across the procurement-to-pay cycle.
Lead advance planning of raw material requirements in line with production schedules to prevent shortages and stock-outs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, R&D, Quality, and Finance to align procurement plans with business needs.
Support new product development (NPD) by securing timely, cost-effective sourcing for new SKUs/launches.
Ensure procurement practices support demand planning and inventory optimization.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policy, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
Maintain accurate contract documentation and procurement records.
Proactively flag supply risks (geopolitical, commodity, logistics) and develop mitigation plans.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding commercial terms, supplier contracts, and internal cost structures given the sensitive nature of this role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Operations, or related field; MBA or CIPS/CPSM certification preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience, with mandatory background in CPG industries (food & beverage, personal care, household goods, or similar).
Demonstrated experience managing high-volume, high-velocity category spend and large supplier portfolios.
Strong track record of negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts and delivering documented cost savings.
Experience with ERP/procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Oracle, Coupa, or similar).
Solid understanding of raw material and packaging markets, commodity risk, and supplier quality management within CPG supply chains.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate with a high degree of discretion given the confidential nature of this hire.

Pay: $92,000.00-$112,000.00 per year
