Now Hiring: Registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Social Worker, or Registered Psychologist
Independent Contractor Hybrid In-Person & Virtual Vancouver, BC
Your unique skills deserve a unique workplace.
Providence Therapy is a leading trauma-focused clinical counselling group practice in the heart of Vancouver's Fairview neighbourhood. We are a collaborative, dog-friendly, forward-thinking team of regulated clinicians united by a genuine passion for depth-oriented, experiential trauma therapy - and we're growing.
We are currently seeking in-person, experienced Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC), Registered Social Workers (RSW), and Registered Psychologists (R.Psych) with formal, in-depth training in experiential trauma-focused approaches to join our team as independent contractors. At this time, we are particularly interested in candidates with formal training in core trauma-focused reprocessing models and competencies such as EMDR, DBR, IFS/ Parts based therapies, Somatic Therapy, AEDP, OEI, complex trauma and dissociation, or similar; and candidates who have significant clinical experience in couples therapy and DBT, in addition to their trauma training.
If you are a driven, growth-oriented clinician who thrives in a collaborative team culture and is deeply committed to the art and science of trauma therapy, we would love to meet you.
A note on applying
We know job hunting means filling out a lot of applications, but we'd love for you to slow down for this one. As part of the process, we ask a few screening questions, and we take them seriously. We're looking for candidates who've genuinely taken the time to read this job description, spend a few minutes on our website getting familiar with the work we do and what we specialize in, and thoughtfully reflect on how they'd be a fit for our team.
Applications with skipped questions or short, generic answers are often passed over quickly, even for candidates who might otherwise be a great fit. So if you're applying, please take the time to give complete, intentional answers; it genuinely makes a difference in how we review your application.
We're excited to meet candidates who are as invested in finding the right fit as we are, and we look forward to reading yours.
Why Join Providence Therapy?
At Providence Therapy, we genuinely invest in our clinicians. You will join a team of innovative, growth-minded professionals who love what they do - and who show up for one another. Here is what you can expect as part of our team:
- Brand new, beautifully designed clinical space: As of June 2026, we are proud to be settled into our stunning new home in Vancouver's Fairview neighbourhood. Our space was thoughtfully designed from the ground up to be warm, inviting, and inspiring - featuring fully furnished private offices, dedicated space for group therapy sessions, a room equipped for somatic therapeutic work, space for in-house training and professional development, expressive arts therapy rooms, a welcoming client waiting area, and a fully stocked kitchen with complimentary beverages for you and your clients (lattes, espresso, tea, and more). This is a space you'll genuinely love coming to work in.
- Specialty technology access: Neurotherapy devices, LENS neurofeedback, Brain Bar services, VR equipment, HRV biofeedback, photobiomodulation treatments, and other adjunct tools to support and expand your therapeutic work. Please note that access to specialty devices is contingent on holding relevant formal training in the applicable modality.
- Professional development & training: Ongoing mentorship opportunities, monthly group consultations, one-on-one consultations as needed, and formal OEI and EMDR consultation hours with certified consultants and trainers. Unique training opportunities and access to educational resources are built into our culture.
- Client referrals & marketing support: Regular, tracked client referrals with administrative management support. Access to established marketing strategies including website profiles, Google Ads, social media campaigns, blogs, video podcasts, headshots, and branded photography.
- Administrative & reception support: Comprehensive administrative support to take the weight of the day-to-day details off your plate — so you can stay focused on what matters most: your clients. This includes efficient reception services, privacy-compliant practice management through Jane App (scheduling, charting, payment tracking), and streamlined clinic processes designed to remove the guesswork from running a caseload.
- Professional resources: Professional headshots, QR-based digital business cards, and a company email address.
- Competitive compensation: Split-fee compensation structure, referral bonuses, and pathways for career growth within the practice.
- Extended medical & dental benefits: Comprehensive benefits package available.
- Flexible scheduling: Options for days, evenings, and weekends. Hybrid in-person and virtual model to fit your lifestyle.
- Team culture & community: Regular team-building activities, an annual retreat, social functions, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. Therapeutic pets welcome - including the option to bring your own well-tempered dog to work.

- Do you currently run or intend to maintain a solo private practice alongside your work at Providence Therapy? If so, please briefly describe that arrangement. Note that we welcome staff with a wide range of working arrangements.
- Where did you complete your Master's degree, and when did you graduate? Which counselling body are you currently registered with (e.g., BCACC, CCPA)? Please note that we require providers to, at minimum, be voluntarily registered with a regulated professional body or a professional body that will qualify under the upcoming formally regulated health profession under the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). RPC (Registered Professional Counsellor), RTC (Registered Therapeutic Counsellor), and other similar designations will not qialify at this time.
- Describe your foundational theoretical approach(es) to working with clients in detail? How do you approach your work with clients? While every case is different, we would love to hear a general sense of your therapeutic approach and specialty area of interest.
- Can you describe your formal training in trauma-focused treatment, including the theoretical framework behind your approach and why you believe it creates lasting change? Bonus: speak to the neuroscience or physiology behind your approach if you are able to. ( This is an important one for us! It reflects your experience working with trauma, and the theoretical underpinnings of why you believe your approach promotes change.)
- Tell us about your ideal client? Are there particular populations or presenting concerns you work with best, and any you prefer not to take on? (Please be specific and clear)
- Do you currently hold professional liability insurance? Note: Clinicians at Providence Therapy are contractors and are required to maintain their own coverage.
- Are you comfortable with dogs in the workplace? We are a clinic with therapy dogd on site, and this is an integral part of our clinic. We cannot accommodate applicants with severe allergies or phobias.
- What is your anticipated availability to start if offered a position?
- What days and times are you generally available to see clients? Please be as specific as you can. Note: our Tuesday–Thursday slots are currently well-covered. Friday through Monday shifts are more needed, and online options mid-week are also available, though we always work collaboratively to find a schedule that works for both parties if the applicant is a good match.
- Are you available to commit to a minimum of 10-15 client hours per week? Are you open to a hybrid model of in-person and virtual sessions? Are you available to work in person at least 50% of the time? This is a condition of the position.
- Do you have experience with Jane App or similar practice management software? If so, which practice management platforms? Examples: Jane, Owl, etc.
