Full job description

EXPERIENCED STABLE HELP WANTED – LIV STABLES

LIV Stables is looking for a reliable, experienced horse person to join our barn team.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent horse care and keeping a barn clean, organized and running efficiently. Attention to detail is extremely important in this position.

Typical responsibilities include:

Feeding and preparing feed
Dressing/blanketing horses appropriately
Turnout
Haying and checking water
Mucking and maintaining some paddocks
Sweeping and keeping barn areas exceptionally clean
Scrubbing stalls and completing periodic deep-cleaning tasks
Monitoring horses and identifying potential health or safety concerns
General barn chores as assigned

Please note: Regular stall mucking is completed by another team member.

We generally have 12–16 horses in the barn.

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous, hands-on experience working with horses
Understands general horse health, behaviour and safety
Is experienced with blanketing and basic equine first aid
Is comfortable handling a variety of horses
Is physically capable of heavy lifting and demanding barn work
Is organized and pays close attention to detail
Is friendly, professional and has good people skills
Works efficiently and takes pride in completing tasks properly
Can work independently and is comfortable being alone at the barn
Can follow instructions and established barn procedures

Required chores and responsibilities are clearly outlined, but we need someone who can work independently and recognize when something needs attention rather than simply walking past it.

Start time is 7:30 a.m. at the latest. Minimum 4 hours daily and up to max 6-7 hours daily.

Horse experience is required. This is not an entry-level position.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 35.0 per week

French not required

horse related: 5 years (preferred)
