Job Description
This role focuses on performing automated system-level testing and electronic assembly of network switching equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will work with test equipment, fixtures, and hand tools to assemble, inspect, test, and package products while following detailed process instructions and contributing to continuous improvement on the production line.
Responsibilities

Perform automated system-level testing, including pre-test, burn-in, and final test, on network switching equipment to verify product functionality.

Monitor test results closely, identify any failures during testing, and promptly report issues to the Manufacturing Line Lead or Technician.

Report any problems, anomalies, or potential improvements related to test software or test equipment to the Manufacturing Line Lead or Technician.

Assemble printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) into product cases by performing mechanical and electrical assembly according to specifications.

Inspect PCBAs and metal work in accordance with defined inspection procedures to ensure quality and compliance with standards.

Perform final assembly and packaging of products, ensuring all components are correctly installed and products are ready for shipment.

Use fixtures, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively in line with product specifications and work instructions.

Follow detailed process instructions and standard operating procedures while working toward meeting daily production and quality goals.

Prepare and kit picklists for production lines, ensuring all required components and materials are available for assembly operations.

Assist peers with water spider activities such as material replenishment and logistics support, as well as de-trashing activities to maintain a clean line.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment at all times by complying with safety, housekeeping, and procedural requirements.

Contribute to team efforts by supporting related tasks and stepping in where needed to help achieve overall production objectives.

Work at different workstations or areas on a rotational basis to balance workloads and reduce fatigue.

Actively contribute to daily team success and continuous improvement by freely sharing ideas and suggestions for process enhancements.
Essential Skills
-
2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
-
1–3 years of electronic assembly experience, including hands-on work with PCB assemblies.

Experience in line assembly and production line operations.

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures safely and accurately.

Experience with electronic testing, including operation of test equipment on production lines.

Familiarity with ISA standards, 5S practices, ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls, and lean manufacturing principles.

Ability to follow detailed process instructions and standard operating procedures consistently.

Strong attention to detail for inspection of PCBAs and metal work in accordance with inspection procedures.

Capability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting daily goals and quality requirements.

Effective communication skills to report issues and collaborate with line leads, technicians, and peers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with SAP inventory systems is a plus.

Test technician experience is an advantage.

Additional PCB experience beyond the minimum requirements is beneficial.

Comfort working across multiple workstations or roles within a production line.

Interest in contributing ideas for process improvements and lean initiatives.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing and production environment focused on network switching equipment. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You work on an assembly and production line that uses test equipment, fixtures, power tools, and hand tools to perform electronic assembly, testing, and packaging. The environment emphasizes lean manufacturing, 5S, and ESD-safe practices, with clear procedures to maintain safety and quality. Workstations are kept clean and organized, and team members rotate between different areas to balance workload and reduce fatigue. You are expected to maintain a professional appearance appropriate for a production floor while complying with all safety and procedural requirements.
