B&D Manufacturing Ltd. has been a leader in the mining manufacturing industry for over 40 years and is looking for a Qualified CAD Specialist/Mechanical Designer to contribute to the continued track record of success. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual that lives and breathes our core values of Safety, Innovation, integrity, and Quality. The incumbent of this position will design and prepare detail drawings from reverse engineering, sketches, specifications and notes.
What you will do
- Studying and analyzing data from reverse engineering, preliminary sketches, specifications, notes, and discussions with customers, sales/project coordinators for manufacturing/fabricating and other projects in order to calculate and prepare general assembly and detail drawings.
- Creating complex drawings by employing advanced drafting techniques.
- Making field trips to various locations as required to obtain and qualify measurements
- Producing drawings both quickly and accurately using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Following the company’s high standards for quality and safety
- Completing other miscellaneous duties as required
What we need
- One year of experience in a related field
- Advanced computer skills and experience working with AutoCAD/Autodesk Inventor
- Mechanical Designer Technician or Mechanical Designer Technologist diploma
- Experience working in a machine shop or fabricating environment is preferred.
- Familiar with the use of mathematical formulas for calculations.
- Maintains knowledge of commonly used design concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working in an ISO quality environment preferred
- Well organized with time management skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and willing to assist others.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and maintain a strong commitment to the B&D Manufacturing Safety Program at all times
