Join our team and spend your summer in a beautiful Provincial Park. We're seeking individuals who enjoy the outdoors and can work independently to oversee park operations in a small team setting. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to live on-site at the provincial park with fully furnished cabin-style accommodations provided, and all necessary skills will be taught. Prior experience is not required, but it is considered an asset. Local applicants may also commute.
Mount Robson Provincial offers breathtaking views of the majestic Rocky Mountains, crystal clear glacial lakes, and ancient old-growth forests. As the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson attracts visitors from around the world who come to hike, camp, fish, and experience the awe-inspiring scenery. Working in Mount Robson Provincial Park provides the opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, learn new skills, and contribute to the preservation of this beautiful wilderness area. Mount Robson is a large provincial park the contains the campgrounds of Meadows, Rivers and Lucerne. A team of 8 staff with a manager on-site runs this park.
We offer cabin-style furnished accommodations, including beds, cooking basics, shower, stove, and fridge. You'll have the opportunity to live on-site full-time throughout the summer, with all accommodations and utilities provided free of charge. Approved pets allowed.
DURATION: July – September 30, 2026
POSITION STATUS: Seasonal full-time (40 hours a week). Shifts are done 6-10 hrs a day, 10 days on 4 days off, with a set schedule for the summer. We do an averaging agreement of 80 hrs over the 10 day shift.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a park operator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that park visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience. Your responsibilities will be diverse, including maintaining janitorial services for facilities such as toilets and shower buildings. You'll also perform maintenance tasks such as brush work, weeding, whippersnipping, staining table boards, and trail maintenance. Additionally, you'll collect campsite fees, register guests, and sell firewood.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Enjoyment of the outdoors
· Comfortable working in a physically active environment
· Experience in janitorial or maintenance an asset
· Ability to perform basic bookwork, and keep records
· Excellent customer service and compliance skills.
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
· Ability to lift, move and carry up to 10 kg.
· A Criminal Record check is required for this position.
· A valid Driver’s License (N is fine)
