Full job description

Job Summary:

The WorkBC Ashcroft Team Lead for employment services is responsible for day-to day operations at the WorkBC Centre in Ashcroft, BC following the CFTC mandate and the terms of reference of the service agreement with the Province of BC. The Employment Services Team Lead works directly with centre staff and is accountable to the Program Operations Manager for the Thompson Nicola Catchment to ensure targets and quality service is provided to the clients of the Centre.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Provides direct supervision of all staff for the Ashcroft WorkBC Employment Centre.

· Develops and monitors individual performance objectives and plans for all employees at the WorkBC Centre ensuring accordance with MSDPR contractual arrangements and overriding governance provided by the Program Operations Manager.

· Supports, coaches and encourages all staff; develops and maintains open communication and a shared teamwork approach to the completion of all assignments within the organization.

· Provides oversight of employment counselling services as well as leadership and oversight of staff employment counselling services, including review of caseloads, action plans, and client engagement strategies; support staff through case conferencing, coaching, and guidance to ensure client-centred, trauma-informed, and outcome-focused employment counselling.

· Deliver direct employment counselling and service continuity, resource room support, and complex client situations, ensuring uninterrupted access to services during staff absences or operational pressures.

· Ensure service quality, compliance, and data integrity across employment counselling activities by monitoring ICM documentation, progress notes, financial support rationales, service interventions, and target reports; troubleshoot policy and system issues and liaise with Ministry and IT supports as required.

· Oversee timely, responsive service delivery and issue resolution, including supervision of service requests, referrals, employer and Ministry inquiries, and resolution of client complaints and critical incidents in accordance with policy and contractual requirements.

· Manage financial and administrative operations including approval of client financial supports, centre expenditures, petty cash and gas cards, staff timesheets, and leave tracking, ensuring compliance with policy, budgets, and audit requirements.

· Strengthen employer and community partnerships and outreach, increasing awareness of WorkBC programs and services, supporting employment outcomes, and overseeing marketing, events, success stories, and communications in alignment with branding standards and the Community Employer Partnership Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· CCDP designation preferred

· A university degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline OR;

· An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in case management, employment counselling, human resources, or social services.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

· Experience working in WorkBC Employment Services and utilizing the Integrated Case Management System (ICM) is an asset

· Employment counselling and/or case management skills

· A strong understanding of the local and provincial labour market and employment resource materials.

· Superior verbal and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize multiple duties and organize a heavy workload
Ability to positively support and communicate with a diverse clientele of varied backgrounds
An exceptional team player with the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment

· Strong analytical and administrative skills

· Ability to implement new systems and successfully navigate change

· Proficient with MS Outlook, Microsoft Office and client database systems

· Ability to pass and maintain a clean criminal record check for vulnerable sector

· Must retain Class 5 Drivers License and use of personal vehicle during working hours

· Ability to travel to attend training sessions and conferences
