Full job description

High Definition Home Systems Inc has been in business for almost 30 years and is rapidly expanding both locally and across Canada. We are a low-voltage system integration contractor specializing in both new construction and retro-fit of luxury off-campus student housing and condos, as well as a preferred contractor for Metergy (Enercare). We are unique in that we install and service all systems available to our projects including large-scale access control, surveillance, network, structured wiring, metering, AV including in-suite/bedroom/amenity TV's, entry systems, theatres, etc. We are a one-stop shop!

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with an above average work ethic who is technically savvy, self-motivated, detail oriented and can solve problems resourcefully and efficiently to join our team as a Lead Installer-Systems Integrator-Programmer.NOTE: This is not a desk or remote job. This is an on-site, getting dirty on a construction site position!

Responsibilities

Set-up and programming of the various systems we service and install (main systems that we install are Salto, Elan, HIK Vision, metering systems and Ubiquiti)
Basic network configuration including modem, router, access points, etc
Loading and termination of equipment racks
Termination and commissioning of large metering systems
Additional tasks as required including data jacks, camera install, TV install, access control hardware such as controllers, readers, door locks, wire-pulling, etc
Post-installation service of all systems

Qualifications

Experience is preferred but not necessary. We are willing to train if you are willing to learn. Experience would include programming and set up for systems such as Salto, Elan, HIK Vision, and an understanding of basic network principles (ie modems, routers, access points). Any knowledge of access controls including operators, mag locks, door strikes etc. would be beneficial.

Responsible, detail oriented, organized, naturally curious with a passion for consumer electronics, computers and technology
MUST have computer and computer network related knowledge or comparable work experience to include basic IT support
Experience with Salto or Elan (Nice) systems is a definite asset
Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network and various terminations
Strong research, diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to retain and recall information an absolute MUST
MUST have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no criminal record
Willingness to travel outside our local area (GTA West triangle Burlington-London-Tri-city area) on occasion is not required but a definite asset

Additional Information

All work tools (laptop, cell phone) are provided including company work van
$27-$32/hour (Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated abilities)
