Full job description

About Us
We are a development and construction company seeking a full-time Project Accountant/Bookkeeper to assume responsibility for full cycle accounting and financial reporting requirements. This is a key position within our organization and requires a highly experienced professional.

Responsibilities

Manage full cycle accounting and financial reporting for assigned projects using Quickbooks
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Monitor budgets, forecasts, and project costs for accuracy and compliance
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as required
Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
Prepare monthly documentation for bank advances on various on-going construction projects
Provide financial insight and support to project managers and leadership

Qualifications

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project accounting (construction/development industry experience considered an asset)
Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and cost controls
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
This is not a training position

Job Details

Location: Office-based, West Springs area (no travel required)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Permanent, full-time
Compensation: Based on experience and aptitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Project Accounting: 5 years (required)
