Why this Role is Important
Reporting to the Executive Director, Student Wellbeing, Accessibility and Belonging, the Manager, Centre for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, provides strategic and operational leadership in the implementation of the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, including initiatives related to human rights and sexual violence prevention. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that EDI priorities are translated into coordinated, measurable, and sustainable actions across the College, supported by appropriate evaluation frameworks, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement processes.
The Manager serves as a key institutional resource on student-related human rights, equity, and sexual violence matters. In this capacity, the role provides expert guidance to leaders on complex or sensitive situations, including those involving competing rights and institutional risk. The Manager supports consistent and legislatively aligned practices across the College by advising on the application of policies and procedures, facilitating coordinated responses across departments, and acting as an escalation point for complex or high-risk equity or sexual violence matters requiring enhanced oversight.
The Manager also collaborates with campus partners to lead the development, review, and interpretation of policies and procedures related to equity, student human rights, and sexual violence prevention. The Manager ensures that institutional frameworks remain aligned with applicable legislation and sector best practices, and that policies are implemented in a manner that promotes clarity, consistency, and fairness in decision-making across the College.
In addition to its strategic and advisory functions, the Manager provides leadership and oversight to the operations of the Centre, including the supervision of CEDI administrators. The role ensures effective delivery of CEDI programs, services, and education strategies that build institutional capacity and support positive student outcomes. The Manager, CEDI will work closely with the Senior Operations Consultant in Student Wellbeing, Accessibility, and Belonging to ensure CEDI’s actions are aligned with the overarching departmental plan, objectives, and measurement strategy.
Through this combination of strategy, policy leadership, institutional advising, and operational oversight, the Manager contributes to advancing a College-wide approach to equity, student human rights, and sexual violence prevention that is coordinated, responsive, and grounded in legislative and ethical best practices.
