Role Overview
As a Foreman / Red Seal Carpenter (or equivalent experience), you will lead the execution and final quality of our renovation and new build projects.You are responsible for delivering high-level craftsmanship, guiding the team on-site, and ensuring every project meets PHS Renovations’ standards.
You’ll take ownership of finishing details, coordinate with trades, and play a key role in bringing designs to life — ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest level of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry & Finishing Excellence
- Execute high-quality finish carpentry on all projects
- Install trim, moldings, doors, cabinetry, and custom woodwork
- Complete precise measurements, cuts, and installations
- Install and repair hardwood and laminate flooring
- Apply finishes to wood surfaces for durability and aesthetics
- Ensure all final details meet company quality standards
Project Quality Control
- Take ownership of final project quality and presentation
- Identify and correct deficiencies before project completion
- Ensure work aligns with design plans and client expectations
- Maintain consistency in craftsmanship across all tasks
Blueprint & Design Execution
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
- Execute projects according to design intent and technical plans
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to resolve challenges
- Provide feedback to improve buildability and outcomes
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead by example on-site with professionalism and work ethic
- Coordinate with trades and subcontractors for smooth workflow
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior carpenters
- Ensure clear communication across all team members
Safety & Job Site Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient job site
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations
- Identify and eliminate hazards proactively
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment
Technology & Systems
- Use company systems (Corfix, Houzz, Connect Team, Site Docs, etc.)
- Track project progress, updates, and communication
- Stay organized and aligned with schedules and scope
Customer Experience
- Maintain a professional presence on client sites
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners
- Ensure minimal disruption and a clean work environment

Who We’re Looking For
- Red Seal Carpenter or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of residential carpentry experience
- Strong experience in:
- New builds
- Kitchen renovations
- Bathroom renovations
- Basement developments
- Takes full ownership of quality and craftsmanship
- Highly detail-oriented with a finishing mindset
- Professional, reliable, and solution-focused
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Able to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively
- Must have own personal tools; larger equipment is supplied by the company
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (required)

Compensation, Schedule & Perks

Working Hours & Overtime
- Flexible hours based on project timelines and client schedules
- Typical working window: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Occasional weekend work may be required
Overtime Structure:
- Maximum of:
- 12 hours per day
- 60 hours per week
- 80 hours per 2-week pay period (per averaging agreement)
- Overtime is paid at 1.5x your hourly rate (with pre-approval)

- Earn vacation pay every pay period (4%), increasing to 6% after 5 years
- Paid general holidays throughout the year
- Holiday pay calculated at 4% of your earnings, giving you extra time off with peace of mind
