Full job description

Looking for an energetic and fun-loving caregiver to join our non-profit organization and provide support to a young woman in her home and during her day program activities.

You will be part of a team who is dedicated to ensure safety, well being and quality of the life of the client.

The caregiver will be working closely with the live-in home share provider, the family, and the agency.

The client uses a wheelchair and a walker, but with support, she is capable of transferring to and from the bed, moving from the wheelchair to her car or the toilet.

She is non verbal, but has good understanding skills. She communicates with some signs, body language, few words and communication device.

You will attend and support client in the following programs depending on your working schedule:

Music class
Swimming
Yoga class
Sign language class
Horseback riding
Community programs as arise
Social outing with client's friends

Your duties will also include driving and attending with the client to the programs, some food preparation, personal care, and light housekeeping duties.

Job qualification includes:

Must be fully vaccinated
Must be able to provide swimming and assist with outdoor activities with individual
Physically fit to push wheelchair in community
Criminal record certificate
Class 5 driving license
National Safety Code Abstract (ICBC driving record search)
First Aid Certificate
Language proficiency: English
Experience as a caregiver for special need individuals

Working schedule:

Part time (8 hours per week)
Flexible day

Compensation: $26.75 per hour
