Electrician – Security, Life Safety & Building Technology

About the Role
The Electrician – Security, Life Safety & Building Technology will work primarily on commercial new construction and renovation projects installing infrastructure and systems that help secure, protect, and connect facilities.
Previous experience in security, access control, video surveillance, or integrated building technologies is considered an asset but is not required. We will provide training on the systems, technologies, and manufacturer platforms used by SI Alarms.
Projects may include:
· Electronic Access Control Systems
· Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
· Intrusion Alarm Systems
· Intercom & Communication Systems
· Nurse Call Systems
· Audio Visual Systems
· Public Address Systems
· Structured Cabling & Network Infrastructure
· Integrated Building Technologies
· Life Safety Systems
Key Responsibilities
· Install conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and support systems
· Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling
· Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
· Coordinate work with project managers, general contractors, consultants, and other trades
· Install and commission integrated security and communication systems
· Troubleshoot installation issues and identify practical field solutions
· Complete project documentation and deficiency corrections
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite
· Assist with mentoring apprentices and junior team members
Qualifications Required:
· Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal considered an asset)
· Experience working on commercial construction projects
· Strong understanding of construction practices and site coordination
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
· Valid driver's license
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
· Professional attitude and commitment to quality workmanship
Assets:
· Security system installation experience
· Access control experience
· Video surveillance experience
· Structured cabling experience
· Network infrastructure experience
· Lift certification
· Fall protection certification
· COR safety training
· Experience leading crews or coordinating projects
