Full job description

Job Overview
Simmering Upholstery, is a 4 generation family business, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing support to various departments, and enhancing overall productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. While training for our administrative position, you will get to know the inner workings of the shop and progressively learn more about sales and assisting clients.

While conducting administrative tasks you will have opportunities to shadow our current sales team and become increasingly confident with answering questions and discussing products, with the goal of also becoming a part time sales representative once trained.

Background education/experience in sales, textiles, or interior design will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Manage front desk operations, including greeting visitors and handling inquiries.
Operate multi-line phone systems to direct calls and provide information.
Maintain organized filing systems for documents and records.
Perform data entry tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with calendar management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
Order and restock shop supplies, as well as general cleaning around the showroom.
Offer exceptional customer service and support to clients and team members.
Handle correspondence and communications in a professional manner.
Support office management tasks to ensure a well-functioning work environment.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
Strong computer literacy.
Excellent organizational skills.
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Experience in administrative roles with a focus on customer support and service.
English fluency is a necessity reading, speaking, and writing.
Previous experience as a personal assistant or in office management is desirable.
Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for this role. We invite qualified candidates who are eager to contribute positively to our team while developing their skills in a dynamic work environment to apply for this position of Administrative Assistant.
