Full job description

Are you able to effectively command a room? Want to test or enhance your skills in a fast-paced environment? If you are looking for an opportunity to expand your experience in a warehouse environment, then this is the position for you!

Our client first opened as a family business over 40 years ago and are a fast-growing retailer of contemporary and modern furniture. They are looking for a Warehouse Team Lead for their brand-new warehouse which has just opened in the Fraser Valley.

The tasks consist of:

Coordinating a team of 8-10 associates.
Welcoming and training new employees.
Collaborating in physical work with the team.
Operating a reach forklift to move products.
Conducting daily team meetings in accordance with each day’s action plan.
Planning operations and resource allocations for shipping and receiving.
Relaying real-time information to the team to maximize production.
Ensuring all products are placed on the trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
Communicating frequently with the manager to optimize operations.
Ensuring compliance with the standards for the merchandise.
Maintaining a safe work environment and reporting and recording any incidences.
Actively encouraging positive culture, teamwork, and collaboration.
Carrying out other tasks as related to this position.

Requirements:

Successful supervisory or leadership experience;
Previous experience in a transportation or warehouse setting;
Valid forklift license for reach truck;
Knowledge of equipment handling procedures;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to exert some effort, including being active, standing for long periods of time, and maneuvering items up to 70 lbs.

The ideal candidate will:

Effectively lead and motivate others while remaining a team player;
Think on their feet to solve problems in a fast-paced environment;
Prioritize health and safety in the workplace;
Be flexible and adapt quickly to change.

Salary: $25 to $26 per hour

Schedule: Day shift, full time

Status: Permanent
