Job Summary:

The CNC Router Programmer/Operator position is responsible for assisting on production floor to meet deadlines and provide continuous support to maintain quality and productivity. Program and operate CNC machines properly to make components. Duties include studying blueprints, nesting components, programming, cutting plastic, wood, or any material requested, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.

Responsibilities:

- Make sure steps are completed in the production process and production app, following the detailed work instructions

- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function

- Set up and operate all equipment required

- Experience working with tight tolerances

- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications

- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts (Productivity)

- Quality Check - Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly

- Read and understand drawings and blueprint designs

- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery

- Maintain a clean and organized working environment

- Complete routine maintenance of their machinery

- Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC

- Let supervisor know of any problems with a machine or product

- Apply labels accurately

- CAMWORKS & Solid works programming

- Lift and carry packages occasionally up to 30 lbs.

- Prepare material on CNC for cutting

- Support inventory control

- Help other departments in achieving production targets

- Other duties as assigned

Academic/Educational Requirements:

- Certificate or diploma in mechanical engineering, machining, CNC operation or relevant discipline

- CNC Machinist Certification is a plus

Required Skills/Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience as CNC Programming

- 3-5 years CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools

- 3-5 years of CAMWORKS and Solid works and good math skills

- Mechanical skills needed to maintain and/or repair lathe machines

- Strong ability to work with a team to accomplish a goal

- Personable nature and good communication skills

- Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities with a special focus on prevention

- Capable of reading and interpreting blue prints and diagrams

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings

- Basic understanding of computer programming

- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills

- Hard working and able to take direction

- Able to work cooperatively in a team environment

- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices

Working Conditions:

- On-site required (Monday to Friday)

- Dusty and noisy shop environment
