Full job description

Position Overview

Klassen Custom Fab Inc. is seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. This position is primarily responsible for receiving, unloading, identifying, storing, and distributing sheet metal, raw materials, and production supplies required to support manufacturing operations.

Job Duties:

Receive and unload incoming sheet metal, raw materials, and production supplies
Verify received materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and job requirements
Inspect incoming materials for visible damage and report discrepancies as required
Identify, label, and store materials in designated locations
Move sheet metal, raw materials, and work-in-process materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes, pallet lifts, and other approved material handling equipment
Maintain inventory levels in designated production areas
Accurately verify material types, quantities, and identification requirements
Assist with inventory counts and stock verification activities
Maintain material traceability and organization throughout the facility
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures
Other duties as assigned

Education – Training – Experience:

High school diploma required or equivalent work experience
Minimum 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of sheet metal materials and fabrication processes considered an asset
Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and pallet lifts considered an asset
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to prioritize workload requests and support multiple production departments
Training provided where applicable

Additional Requirements

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
Reliable transportation to and from work
