Position Overview

BAAC Construction Inc. is hiring an experienced HDD Driller to support fibre optic and underground utility projects across Calgary and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a motivated operator who can safely and efficiently run HDD equipment in residential, commercial, and urban environments. This role focuses primarily on drilling operations, production, and crew coordination.

What You'll Do

Operate HDD drilling equipment for fibre optic and underground utility installations
Complete bores safely and accurately in residential and urban environments
Read drill profiles and construction drawings
Coordinate with locators and ground crews during drilling operations
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Support site setup, safety procedures, and production goals
Work alongside labourers, operators, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years of HDD drilling experience
Experience drilling fibre optic or underground utility projects
Ability to work safely around existing utilities
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Ability to tow trailers and equipment is considered an asset
Ground Disturbance Level II preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable transportation
