Looking for Sous Chef and Executive Chefs!!

We are a fine dining restaurant group in Halifax, Nova Scotia, known for delivering exceptional guest experiences through culinary excellence, strong leadership, and a culture of professionalism and respect. Our kitchens operate at high volume while maintaining refined standards of quality, consistency, and creativity.

We are seeking experienced Back of House Leaders to join our team. This role is ideal for chefs and kitchen managers who thrive in high‑volume environments and are passionate about leading teams to deliver exceptional food at scale.

Position Summary

The Back of House Leader is responsible for managing daily kitchen operations, leading culinary teams, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and efficiency. This role works closely with BOH team and Front of House leadership to ensure smooth service, strong financial performance, and a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage kitchen teams during high‑volume service while maintaining fine dining standards
Train, mentor, and develop cooks, sous chefs, and prep staff
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items
Maintain food cost targets, inventory controls, and waste management systems
Oversee ordering, vendor relationships, and receiving procedures
Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards
Collaborate on menu development, seasonal changes, and special events
Manage scheduling, labor costs, and productivity
Support a respectful, professional, and inclusive workplace culture
Coordinate effectively with Front of House leaders for seamless service

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years in a kitchen leadership role (Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or equivalent)
Proven experience in high‑volume restaurants (fine dining, upscale casual, hotel kitchens, or restaurant groups)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Solid understanding of food costing, inventory systems, and labor management
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality standards
Experience with large teams and multi‑station kitchens
Food safety certification or willingness to obtain
Eligibility to work in Canada (visa support may be available depending on candidate)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
