Full job description

Overview:

Our client is a stable, successful oil and gas company based in downtown Calgary. Parking provided.

Responsibilities:

The Payroll Coordinator is accountable for the full-cycle processing of payroll. This role blends being an hands-on individual contributor with team work oversight, working with the Payroll Manager to developing the skills and competencies of each team member. Specific responsibilities include:

Process payroll
Ensure all post-payroll tasks and responsibilities are completed on time, including all statutory remittances, garnishments, GL reporting, all payroll reporting, etc.
Group Benefits administration
Mentor and train team members
Work directly with managers, executives, and HR on special/ad hoc projects, payroll/data analytics, and custom reporting requests.

Requirements:

A strong preference for a payroll certification
~5+ years experience processing full-cycle payroll
Leadership experience preferred; strong senior individual contributor acceptable
Benefit administration experience
Prefer experience with Workday
Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset
Highly competent in analytics and data management, including strong MS Excel skills
Accomplished written and verbal communications skills
