Structural Engineering Design Lead

Compensation: $125,000 - $155,000 CAD
Our client is a growing multi-disciplinary engineering consulting organization delivering industrial, automotive, commercial, institutional, and manufacturing-related projects across North America.
As growth continues, they are seeking an experienced Structural Engineering Design Lead to provide technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and support the successful delivery of complex structural projects from concept through construction.

What You Will Be Doing
- Lead structural engineering projects from concept development through construction completion
- Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for structural design activities
- Design and review steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and light-gauge steel structures
- Support automotive, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and institutional facility projects
- Conduct structural assessments, site investigations, inspections, and field reviews
- Coordinate construction administration activities and support project closeout
- Review drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables for quality and code compliance
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, designers, and technologists
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and project management teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, project planning, and design coordination sessions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent
- P.Eng designation or eligibility for registration strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading projects, teams, or major engineering initiatives
- Experience within a consulting engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and North American building codes and standards
- Proven experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and light-gauge steel systems
- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, automotive, commercial, or institutional projects
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational, planning, and leadership capabilities
Technical Experience
Experience with any combination of the following is considered an asset:
- ETABS
- SAP2000
- SAFE
- STAAD
- Tekla
- Revit
- Advance Steel
- RAM Structural Systems
- Autodesk Robot
