Job Title: Crane Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating heavy industrial overhead cranes to move 20-ton steel and other materials within a busy warehouse and shop environment. You will support daily shipping and receiving operations by loading and unloading trucks, setting up packaging machines, and moving materials throughout the facility. The position requires hands-on work away from a sit-down crane or forklift, including packing, shipping, and inventory tasks that can be labour intensive.
Responsibilities

Operate heavy industrial overhead cranes to safely move 20-ton steel and other materials throughout the facility.

Set up and operate packaging machines to support shipping and production activities.

Load and unload trucks in the shop, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.

Work on and off the forklift as needed, remaining comfortable switching between equipment operation and manual tasks.

Move materials through the warehouse and organize new shipments in designated storage locations.

Count inventory accurately and maintain up-to-date stock records using RF scanners and the inventory system.

Apply labels and complete all required documentation to ensure accurate tracking of materials and shipments.

Perform packing and shipping tasks, including physically handling materials and preparing orders for outbound shipment.=
Essential Skills

2+ years of heavy industrial crane operation experience with 20-ton capacity.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.

1+ year of shipping and receiving experience.

Comfort working on and off a forklift, including transitioning between equipment operation and manual labour tasks.
Work Environment and Shift Timing
This is a full-time, first-shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The work takes place in a heavy industrial warehouse and shop environment where 20-ton steel and other materials are moved regularly using overhead cranes and forklifts. You will spend significant time on your feet, moving around the facility to operate equipment, set up machines, handle materials, and perform packing and shipping tasks. The environment involves working around packaging lines, trucks being loaded and unloaded, and organized storage of materials and coils/metal.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
