Job Title: Constituency and Communications Assistant - Summer Job/Internship

Nature of the Work:

Our team is looking for someone who is highly committed to public service and is ready to join a dynamic, fast-paced office this summer! Our Calgary office supports the MP and collaborates with her Parliamentary team in Ottawa to support her legislative responsibilities. Are you ready to be a part of a hard-working and outcomes-focused team that makes a difference?

As a Constituency Affairs and Communications Assistant, you will help manage stakeholder relationships, help create engaging social media content, and assist with the day-to-day administrative duties for both the Member, the Parliamentary office, and the Constituency office.

Working in a federal office is often high-pressure, and you will regularly be expected to meet tight deadlines. Duties will vary over the course of the parliamentary calendar year. At times, you will be serving as the primary point of contact for individuals and organizations in the constituency. Being able to professionally communicate and interact with various individuals and groups is critical.

Primary duties include:

Assist with stakeholder management, which includes:
Meeting with community stakeholders
Conducting monthly reports
Attending events/meetings with/on behalf of the Member
Stakeholder database management
Drafting and distributing proactive and reactive communications products
Social Media and Communications
Assisting with the creation and distribution of social media products
Assisting with administrative office responsibilities

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with editing video and producing social media products
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong writing and research skills
Ability to take direction and complete tasks independently
Able to work under pressure with changing priorities
Strong multi-tasking and time management capabilities
Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
Ability to work and communicate well with others
Highly organized
Must be able to work in the office (not remotely)
Evenings and weekends may occasionally be required
Must be already eligible to work in Canada.
