Position: Electrical Assembler/PLC Technician

Location: Corma Inc., Concord, Ontario, Canada

Position Overview:
We are currently looking for an Electrical Panel Builder / Assembler / Controls Technician who will be responsible for building of electrical control panel and then installing it and wiring up of machinery. This role involves assembling and wiring industrial control panels, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring high-quality standards throughout the production and commissioning process. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated equipment.

The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years experience with electro-mechanical/automated machinery or related equipment with experience with PLC automation systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Interpret electrical schematics
Laying out and buildup of electrical control panels
Wire electrical Power distribution and control circuits, as well as On-Machine wire routing and termination
Modify and optimize existing control programs to improve efficiency and throughput
Integrate PLC systems with VFDs, sensors, robotics, and other industrial control devices
Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs for industrial automation systems, primarily using Allen-Bradley platforms
Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC, HMI, and control systems to support automated equipment
Machine power-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Operate standard electrical assembly tools, and basic shop equipment
Communicate with engineering staff regarding build issues and timelines
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Drilling and cutting holes for electrical devices
Mounting and wiring of electrical devices
Perform functional tests such as continuity checks and wire pull tests.
Repair or rework issues detected during the inspection/test stage of the job.
Work to CSA and UL code.
Communicating with supervisors for work instructions

Qualifications:

At least 3-5 years of experience in the assembly of automated equipment, and electrical panel building, OR a recent graduate of a related post-secondary diploma (Electrical technician, Electro-Mechanical technician, Industrial automation, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
Familiarity with standard electrical assembly practices
Exceptional communication (written & verbal in the English language) and interpersonal skills
