The pay range for this role $50,000 to $65,000 CAD, with final compensation being determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and internal equity. Where applicable, location and market data may also influence the final offer.

Mission
Your core mission as an Analytical Lab Technician II on the Quality & Analytical team is to provide technical support to other members of the team with a focus on several experiments and methods of analysis that are well understood and normally have standard procedures to follow
You will deliver on this mission by:
- Setting up and performing routine QC and analytical testing according to established Vive methods, industry guidelines, SOPs, or direction from senior staff.
- Supporting product development and commercial production testing through careful attention to detail, thorough documentation, and consistent data integrity.
- Performing accurate calculations, making detailed observations, and collecting complete, reliable, and high-quality QC and analytical data.
- Maintaining up-to-date working records, such as lab notebooks and sample reports, by accurately uploading, entering, organizing, and summarizing experimental data.
- Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment while demonstrating corporate values in the performance of work and interactions with others.
- Adhering to local, provincial, and federal legislation pertaining to company employment and health and safety policies.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine analytical testing of pesticide formulations, raw materials, and in-process samples in accordance with established SOPs and recognized industry methods, including CIPAC, FAO, and EPA guidelines.
- Prepare samples and solutions required for analytical testing and laboratory operations.
- Generate reliable analytical results through accurate execution of test methods and calculations
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date laboratory records by entering, uploading, reviewing, organizing, and summarizing analytical data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks, databases, and reporting systems.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail by documenting observations, identifying anomalies, and ensuring the traceability and quality of analytical data.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment through routine housekeeping, equipment cleaning, and proper management of laboratory materials and waste.
- Safely handle laboratory samples and materials, including the routine lifting, carrying, shaking, pouring, and cleaning of containers weighing up to 10 kg.
- Assist in receiving, labeling, storing, and shipping laboratory samples and materials as required.
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities by assisting with method optimization, troubleshooting, and other laboratory initiatives as directed.
- Perform other job-related duties, as necessary.
Skills & Experiences
- B.Sc. or equivalent in an applicable scientific discipline with 0‐3 years experience in a relevant field such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; or Advanced Diploma in fields such as Chemical Lab Technician, Chemical Technology with lab experience. Analytical Chemistry background preferred.
- Good experimental research skills and experience with data analysis
- Good computer skills including proficiency with spreadsheets and MS Office programs
- Familiarity with common laboratory instrumentation and techniques, and ability to quickly learn how to operate new instruments and perform other procedures as required
- Excellent time management and priority setting skills. Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing business priorities
Work Environment
- Incumbents are initially managed closely by more senior staff until tasks are mastered, then generally work independently within established procedures.
- Has some latitude to implement process improvements within the confines of achieving objectives of the role with supervisor approval (ex. suggests new instruments or changes to methods that would increase productivity or improve data accuracy). Decisions beyond the scope of the role are validated and approved by more senior staff members.
- The majority of the work is performed in an environment that is normally clean and comfortable. Some of the work is performed in an environment where exposures to physical, chemical, and biological hazards exist under controlled conditions.
- Potential hazards may include noise, temperature extremes, biohazards, and hazardous chemical products. Standard safety procedures will describe personal protective devices that are mandatory requirements of performing the work. All necessary safety equipment will be provided.
