Job Title: Field Supervisor
Reports to: YYC General Manager and Operations Directors (Owners)
Job Summary
The Field Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring All Star Landscaping’s landscape work and snow removal operations achieve strong production rates, consistent quality control, and effective training across all field teams.
This role requires exceptional time management, adaptability, and accountability. The Field Supervisor oversees multiple crews and job sites, ensures projects are properly resourced, and confirms work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards. In addition, this role plays a key part in onboarding, training, and developing team members while protecting company assets, customer relationships, and All Star Landscaping’s reputation.
Core Responsibilities
Production Responsibilities(Primary Priority):
- Optimize production rates across all crews and job sites.
- Maintain high-quality standards while meeting or exceeding production targets.
- Understand production rates for all scopes of work and schedule crews accordingly.
- Proactively plan timelines and allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently.
- Identify production shortfalls and work with the General Manager to implement corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with All Star Landscaping’s safety policies and procedures.
Project & Job Responsibilities:
- Provide daily updates and reviews of all active projects using company systems.
- Review and understand all construction drawings, site plans, and project scopes for current and upcoming work.
- Oversee multiple crews across multiple job sites simultaneously.
- Direct crews with clear instruction, support, and leadership to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain consistency in execution across all crews, crew leads, and scopes of work.
- Lead crews in the field when required; this is a hands-on role.
- Serve as a clear, professional, and transparent communicator representing All Star Landscaping’s commitment to excellence.
- Assess job scope and execute strategic planning to meet project goals.
- Monitor progress and communicate clear, timely updates to management and field staff.
Shop/Yard and Equipment Responsibilities:
- Plan and support crew deployment across projects and daily tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, yard, and work sites.
- Assist in scheduling, monitoring, and tracking equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all company equipment is job-ready and report issues promptly.
- Enforce a strict no-smoking policy in all company vehicles, equipment, properties, and job sites.
Team Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and training of field employees.
- Provide ongoing training and development in landscaping skills, safety, and company standards.
- Maintain employee training logs and track skill development.
- Enforce disciplinary policies fairly and consistently when required.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all operations.
- Ensure crew compliance with company systems and applications, including:
- LMN Time
- Slack
- SiteDocs
- Enforce vehicle safety, load securement, and transportation standards.
- Provide real-time feedback and coaching to improve production, quality, and consistency.
- Conduct field-level performance management and corrective coaching.
- Step into the role of Crew Leader (Foreman) when operationally required.

Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a crew lead or field management role within landscape construction or a related construction industry.
- Proven ability to manage multiple crews and job sites.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on productivity and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Solid understanding of job costing, budgets, and job profitability.
- Strong financial acumen in managing project budgets and job profitability.
Technical Skills & Certifications
- Proficient in operating skid steers, power tools, and vehicles with and without trailers.
- Extensive hands-on experience in:
- Pre-grade, rough grade, and final grading
- Planting and sod installation
- Softscape and hardscape installation
- Fence and deck construction
- Familiarity with commercial landscape construction practices.
- Required certifications (must be maintained in good standing):
- WHMIS
- CSTS
- First Aid
- TDG
- Load Securement training and competancy
- Skid Steer Training and competancy
- Loader Training and competancy
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of direct field experience in landscape construction or related industry.
- Proficiency in the following systems:
- LMN
- SiteDocs
- Keep Trucking
- Google Drive
- Slack
