JOB LOCATION: 165 Line 4 South, Oro-Medonte - Just 10 minutes north of Barrie (Public Transportation is not available)
JOB PURPOSE:
This position will support the President with day-to-day administrative tasks while also assisting with general HR administrative duties and recruitment activities. The role will contribute to the coordination of business operations by supporting scheduling, travel arrangements, meeting logistics, and internal initiatives.
In addition, the position will provide support with Team Member-related processes, including recruitment coordination, candidate communication, and general HR administration. The role will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to help ensure smooth execution of administrative, operational, and people-related initiatives across the organization.
DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with scheduling and calendar management for the President's meetings, appointments and deadlines.
- Manage group meeting meal coordination by collecting individual orders, placing orders with local restaurants, picking up meals, and delivering them to participants during meetings in a timely and organized manner.
- Make travel arrangements for the President and other key members for trade shows, customer visits, conferences, and client visits, including preparing itineraries and materials as needed.
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of the President’s company vehicle, as needed, to ensure it is kept in presentable condition.
- Assist with quoting and supporting materials for new projects, working with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare or update customer-facing materials that support sales and business development activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common office areas, including the coffee station, sink, and shared spaces, ensuring a consistently clean, presentable, and well-stocked environment.
- Assist with company events and initiatives that support Team Member engagement and culture.
- Manage and coordinate our Team Member uniform program, including ordering, tracking, distribution, and updates.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including coordination of materials, documentation, and Team Member setup.
- Assist with Health & Safety administration, including taking detailed minutes for Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and maintaining accurate records.
- Track Team Member certifications, licenses and training requirements, proactively scheduling required safety training and renewals to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.· Design and implement automated workflows using Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Excel, Power Automate, and related applications) to streamline manual processes, improve efficiency, and reduce administrative workload.
- Assist with social media and digital presence by supporting content scheduling, monitoring engagement, and helping ensure messaging aligns with MPC’s brand and business objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis.
- Attend plant meetings and actively participate in related projects.
- Promote MPC’s core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with MPC procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Plan effectively to ensure all assigned duties are completed on schedule, including organizing and updating documents and files according to job function.
- Assist with the quoting process by performing data entry.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field,
- Hands-on experience supporting HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, and compliance is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-powered tools and Microsoft 365 applications (especially Excel and automation platforms) to develop, optimize, and maintain advanced workflow and process automation solutions.
- Experience supporting social media platforms and basic digital tools (e.g., content scheduling tools or website updates) is considered an asset, along with strong general computer skills and comfort learning new technologies.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working with both structure and flexibility.
- Interest in manufacturing, operations, or B2B environments is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and work planning ability.
- Ability to successfully work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high level of detail while demonstrating an appropriate sense of urgency to meet timing and customer needs, while maintaining accountability for his or her own work.
- A demonstrated high level of computer skills for analytical and presentation software.
- A valid passport is required.
- Must be available to travel out of the country.
