Position Summary:
The SOS Operations Coordinator is responsible for leading and maintaining uninterrupted flow through the SOS manufacturing process starting with quotation and procurement through final production completion and delivery coordination.
This role provides operational leadership across estimating, procurement, planning, programming, tooling, production, quality, and materials functions to ensure priority work progresses efficiently through the organization with minimal interruption or delay.
The position is responsible for coordinating manufacturing readiness, resolving operational constraints, supporting customer and program priorities, and maintaining real-time production visibility through ERP/MRP systems.
The SOS Operations Coordinator also oversees account management activities related to Dash 8 aftermarket and internal program support to ensure alignment between customer requirements, operational priorities, and manufacturing execution.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Flow Management:
- Lead and coordinate uninterrupted SOS workflow across all operational departments
- Identify and remove manufacturing constraints impacting throughput, delivery, or production continuity
- Coordinate priorities between production, planning, procurement, tooling, quality, programming, and materials
- Ensure manufacturing readiness prior to production release
ERP/MRP & System Control:
- Maintain accurate production visibility and transaction integrity within ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor job status, shortages, routing accuracy, and production priorities
- Support operational decision-making through production analysis and reporting
Procurement & Estimating Support:
- Coordinate critical material shortages and procurement priorities
- Support estimating review and manufacturing feasibility assessments
- Ensure alignment between quoted requirements and operational capability
Customer & Program Coordination:
- Support operational alignment for Dash 8 aftermarket and internal program requirements
- Coordinate customer priority communication and escalation activities
- Ensure program requirements are effectively translated into operational execution
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support cross-functional collaboration and operational accountability throughout the organization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, throughput improvement, and process reliability
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or operations environment
- Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional manufacturing operations including planning, procurement, production, quality, and materials
- Experience working within an ERP/MRP-driven manufacturing environment, with strong understanding of production transactions, routings, scheduling, and inventory control
- Experience supporting customer programs, aftermarket operations, or complex manufacturing projects in a high-priority production environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production readiness, and operational constraint management
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements is considered an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments and customer groups
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing reporting systems
