Full job description

Property Accountant Overview

Platinum Properties Group is seeking a hands-on Accountant Manager to support property-level accounting and financial reporting across a growing real estate portfolio. This role is execution-focused and suited for someone who takes ownership of the books, values accuracy, and operates comfortably in a lean environment.

The Accountant Manager will work directly with ownership and external advisors, maintain the integrity of the general ledger in Yardi, and have meaningful influence over accounting processes and systems, including improving workflows, providing input into Yardi setup and reporting, and simplifying and cleaning up existing processes.

This is not a large corporate finance role. It is a practical position for someone who wants responsibility, accountability, and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

Own the month-end close process for multiple properties
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements by property
Post and review journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions
Perform balance sheet reconciliations (bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, accruals, security deposits)
Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity within Yardi
Review rent rolls and reconcile to the general ledger
Oversee accounts payable, including invoice coding and payment runs
Assist with property budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Support year-end audit and tax processes with external accountants
Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting in a practical, scalable manner

Qualifications

2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate
Hands-on Yardi experience preferred
Strong full-cycle accounting and month-end close experience
CPA designation or working toward CPA preferred
Solid knowledge of GAAP / ASPE (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles / Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises)
Strong Excel skills
Experience managing multiple properties or entities
Detail-oriented, accountable, and self-directed
