Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting practices, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires strong proficiency with accounting software and a solid understanding of corporate finance principles. The Assistant Controller will play a key part in maintaining compliance, preparing financial reports, and overseeing day-to-day accounting functions to support the company's growth and stability.

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Prepare, review, and analyze account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to verify accuracy of financial data.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms.
Support budgeting processes and monitor financial performance against budgets.
Conduct auditing activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation records.
Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities requiring investigation or correction.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely completion.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and best practices within the industry.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably as an Assistant Controller or similar position.
Extensive knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other accounting systems.
Strong background in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, auditing, and financial reporting.
Experience with corporate finance functions such as budgeting, account analysis, payroll processing, and financial services management.
Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and internal control procedures.
Prior experience working with various financial tools like Account reconciliation software or payroll systems is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial activities.

Pay: $59,173.39-$89,000.00 per year
