About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator on behalf of our employer Partner to join a growing team specializing
in industrial, commercial, and institutional electrical construction projects. This role is ideal
for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment
and is confident in managing complex estimates from early planning stages through final
construction. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing competitive bids,
supporting project strategy, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and
clients, and contributing to the long-term success of the estimating department.
Responsibilities
● Review tender documents including instructions, RFQs, bonding requirements,
insurance documents, schedules, and submission requirements to ensure compliance
● Analyze conceptual designs, project specifications, tender drawings, and related design
documentation
● Identify design gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies within tender documents and
issue RFIs as required
● Conduct pre-bid risk evaluations including scope analysis, competition review, cost
considerations, and project feasibility
● Develop installation strategies to support competitive and successful bids
● Suggest value engineering solutions to improve cost-effectiveness and optimize project
execution
● Prepare detailed take-offs, assign items, and organize quantities using estimating
software
● Calculate material costs, labor hours, equipment requirements, and project expenses
● Set up tender-specific breakout pricing and determine submission format requirements
● Update and maintain estimating software databases including labor units and material
pricing
● Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and recommend
appropriate vendors
● Prepare lead letters outlining scope clarifications and project qualifications
● Manage overall cost strategy from conceptual budgeting through final construction
stages
● Manage time effectively to produce accurate and timely estimates
● Present and explain estimates to clients, consultants, designers, and internal
stakeholders
● Coordinate with internal departments and project teams as required
● Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and clients
● Represent the company professionally during site walkthroughs and design meetings
● Review estimates prepared by other employees and provide quality control support
when applicable
● Support onboarding, mentoring, and training of new hires within the department
● Combination of office and on-site project environments
● Some site visits may involve extended periods of walking and time spent outdoors
depending on the project and season
● Exposure to active construction environments and varying site conditions as part of
project coordination and walkthroughs

Experience
● Minimum 10 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects within
industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors
● Proven ability to estimate a wide variety of project types and prepare complex proposals
with minimal supervision
● Experience coordinating group work efforts and supporting collaborative estimating
processes
● Strong understanding of procurement procedures, accounting practices, and project
administration
● Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical
specifications
● Experience using estimating software including BlueBeam, Accubid, and Live Count
Nice to Have (Not Required)
● Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
● Certified Engineering Technologist designation
● 309A Electrical License
● Electrical Certificate of Qualification

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
