About the opportunity:
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of the full cycle payrolls of the manufacturing plants in accordance with applicable government legislation and union agreements.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Resolves small and complex problems within the HR Technology workstreams to drive implementations; leads projects with business implications, participates in planning and priority estimates; executes with limited guidance. Collaborates with internal business stakeholders to define specific requirements for new and or existing system enhancements.
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls in the payroll system software and perform payroll balance routines. Calculate and process manual payments as required. Analyze inconsistencies within payroll and resolve any issues and analyze data output for reasonability and accuracy. Also consult collective bargaining agreements to ensure correct interpretation.
- Analyze and validate employee data flow transmitted between the HRIS, Timekeeping, and the payroll systems to ensure alignment.
- Prepare remittances such as union dues, garnishments, and pension in accordance with legal and contractual requirements.
- Prepare month-end accruals, account reconciliations, corrective payroll journal entries, preparation and remittance of various government forms (i.e., ROE, T4).
- Conduct year-end functions and processes, adjustments, and produce T4s and R1s.
- Develop adhoc custom reports by building relevant criteria in the payroll system’s reporting tool.
- Respond to relevant departmental and employee queries and liaise with other departments to clarify, resolve, increase understanding and provide information when necessary.
- Assist the Payroll department by identifying opportunities for improvements to processes and participating in monitoring key performance indicators and logging performance measures.
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary education, minimum of a college diploma, with a concentration in accounting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

- Completed Level 1 Canadian Payroll Association’s PCP program
- Minimum three (3) years direct experience in payroll administration in a high-volume complex union and non-union environment
- Team Player that brings a positive attitude and approach to a fast paced and ever-changingenvironment
- High attention to detail and data accuracy with strict adherence to security policies and handling of confidential information
- Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and problem solve.
- Proficient with related payroll software and reporting module, HRIS application, and Time Keeping application, as well as Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
- Bilingual (French & English) is a requirement

Compensation:
As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is $62,500 – $78,100+.
Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
Pay: $62,500.00-$78,100.00 per year
