Full job description

The team behind Dovetail is expanding and preparing to open an exciting new restaurant concept in Vancouver, Bevel. We're currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to play a key role in shaping the kitchen, the team, and the opening.

Looking for: Sous Chef

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance and training as needed
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed
- Collaborate with the executive chef to create new menu items and specials
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist with food service during busy periods

Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and flavor profiles
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of restaurant management principles and practices
- Bartending experience is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and follow health and safety regulations
- Exceptional hospitality skills to provide excellent customer service

As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in the success of our restaurant. Your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and attention to detail will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. If you are passionate about food, have strong supervisory skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role is required.
