Full job description

Overview
We are looking for a full-time barista that is available to work a mix of weekdays and weekends throughout the summer AND school year (non-negotiable), approximately 30-40hrs per week depending on availability.

Coffee shop experience desirable but not required for this position. Super fun and fast paced environment with a friendly team. Staff are scheduled for shifts between 6:30am and 5:30pm, no late evenings required!

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to Bean Scene recipes and standards
Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any questions or concerns
Handle food preparation tasks such as serving food items, maintaining cleanliness of workstations, and adhering to food safety protocols
Manage cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including cleaning equipment and dishes regularly
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation
Assist with serving food items when necessary and ensure timely delivery of orders to customers
Demonstrate effective time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods efficiently

Requirements

Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Strong customer service skills with an approachable demeanor
Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately
Familiarity with POS systems
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks during peak hours
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed

Pay: $17.85 per hour
