Full job description

We are seeking twelve (12) qualified Carpenters to join our operations in Guelph, Ontario.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include:

The position will include working with materials such as wood, concrete and steel with duties that include:

Building concrete forms for walls, stairs, and foundations for various construction projects
Estimating height, width, length, and other proportions
Selecting appropriate materials for the required job
Working with blueprints or instructions from supervisors to prepare and join materials
Utilizing chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
Joining materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
Checking work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications
Using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to perform layout and ensure everything is level and secure
Instruct apprentices

Job Skills Required:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Three (3) years of carpentry experience to include a minimum of one year of the following:
Reading drawings
Reading part lists and identify parts to use in assembly
Using various power and hand tools
Required to adhere to all health and safety codes and regulations

Hours: 44 hours per week + overtime

Wage: $36.00 per hour

Working Conditions: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking, noisy, dusty

Work Settings: Construction, commercial, industrial, institutional

Overtime: Paid at time and one half after 88 hours biweekly

Benefits: Life Insurance, Pension Plan, Free Parking Available, Travel Insurance, Other Benefits
