Water Operations is currently looking to fill a number of full-time regular Construction Worker vacancies in Minitonas. We are seeking highly motivated individuals that are results oriented with a strong work ethic to work within our Water Operations Branch. Water Operations ensures safe and effective provincial water related infrastructure through the delivery of inspection, planning, design, maintenance, rehabilitation and construction activities. The Branch is responsible for the overall management of infrastructure inventory that includes drains, dams, flood protection dikes, diversions, bridges, culverts and pumping stations.
Duties:
As part of a crew, the Construction Worker carries out maintenance and operation of water conveyance structures, bridges, dams, buildings and other water resources related works. The Construction Worker also assists in bridge repairs, installation of culvert and low level crossings, assists survey crews with line cutting or drilling ice, operation and maintenance of pumping facilities, brushing, seeding and flood fighting operations as required.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Basic construction and general labour experience.
- Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Excellent team work skills demonstrating respect and professionalism in a crew.
- General knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations on construction sites and practicing safe work procedures.
Desired:
- Experience operating construction related equipment (such as Farm Tractor, Skid Steer, Riding Mower, UTV/ATV, Snowmobile etc.)
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid Full Class 5F Manitoba Driver's licence.
- Must be physically capable of performing all required tasks, including continuous standing, walking, and sitting, lifting up to 50kg, and wearing protective equipment.
- Must be able to work in outdoor adverse weather conditions and rough terrain environment in both winter and summer.
- Must be able to work extended hours and willing to travel extensively to worksites within the province by ground, water and air transportation, which may require overnight stays.
- Must be able to work in hazardous conditions (near and around road construction equipment and roadway traffic).
