Job Summary
We are looking for a cook to join our team at the Welborne Commons!
We are a small, full-service restaurant that takes pride in serving delicious food and drinks to our awesome local community. Our team works closely together to deliver a high standard of hospitality to our guests in a warm and welcoming environment.
Our BOH crew is a small team where everyone does a bit of everything, from hot side, and prep to the occasional dish shift.
We are looking for 1-2 years cooking experience, and the ability to work independently.
You would need a strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.
This is a part time position with expected hours 16-20hrs weekly, ranging from Tuesday to Sunday. The position will consist of mostly opening lunch shifts with the occasional closing shifts every week, and will cover both prep and line work.
Our hours are Tuesday-Thursday 1130-8pm, Friday & Saturday 1130-9pm, Sunday 11:30 to 4pm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to recipes and standards
- Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock
- Support the kitchen team during busy hours to ensure timely service
- Adhere to all health regulations and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards within the food industry is a plus
- Experience with meal preparation and serving in a fast-paced setting is needed
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
