Our people are METHOD’s greatest strength. Join a team that values collaboration, creativity, and ownership while building innovative products that serve customers across North America.
METHOD is a growing Design, Engineering & Manufacturing company based in South Surrey. Our 40-person team manufactures everything from one-off custom products for the entertainment industry; to high volume products for specific customers, to in-house products and systems, and sells them through a variety of distribution channels to multiple markets and customer segments. This is inclusive of one of our product lines, the EXO Building System, manufacturing innovative building envelope systems and structural insulated panels (wood and steel). Our construction team works on schools, municipal buildings, and other institutional facilities across Western Canada.
As we expand into a new manufacturing facility, we are investing in the people and systems that will shape the next phase of our growth.
If you are an energetic, creative, driven engineer and excited about building manufacturing capability from existing systems to ground up, you might be the perfect fit to join our team as our Manufacturing Systems Engineer.
OVERVIEW
We are expanding to a new manufacturing facility and are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to define the technical and operational backbone of the plant. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with manufacturing process leadership, you will shape how the plant is built, how it runs, and how it scales.
This is not a maintenance role. This is not a narrow design-only position. This is a high-ownership engineering position spanning multiple fabrication processes, including robotic and manual welding, PU foam metering unit, proprietary assembly methods, and material processing systems. You will own equipment integration, production flow, automation strategy, and performance across the full manufacturing operation. It is a high-impact opportunity to influence capital decisions and long-term manufacturing competitiveness.
The initial engagement is a 12-month contract focused on facility launch and production ramp-up, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role. Reports to: Plant Manager / Operations Leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility & Equipment Integration:
- Support facility layout development and workflow design
- Lead mechanical installation and commissioning of fabrication equipment
- Oversee integration of robotic and manual welding systems, PU foam metering unit, presses, cranes, material handling, and finishing processes
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
