Truck Accessory Mechanical Support Specialist
Inside Sales Department | Pacbrake Company Ltd. | Langley, BC
Full-Time | On-Site | Salary: $50,000-$70,000
⚠ MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: This role requires a deep, hands-on mechanical background with pickup trucks. If you cannot demonstrate direct experience working on, diagnosing, and repairing medium to heavy-duty pickup trucks, please do not apply. Applications without this background will not be reviewed.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Truck Accessory Mechanical Support Specialist to join our Inside Sales team. This is a high-volume, fast-paced support role — not a casual help desk. You will field a continuous stream of phone calls and emails from members of the public, dealer networks, and professional installers who need accurate answers about parts, fitment, and installation problems. They need those answers quickly. If you’re slow to diagnose or vague in your guidance, you fail at this job. Period.
You are the person who can hear a description of an installation problem and immediately know what’s wrong. You understand how pickup trucks are built, how they’re used commercially and recreationally, and what can go wrong when adding tow-haul accessories to them. This knowledge is not trainable in a reasonable timeframe — you either bring it to the table or you don’t.
WHO WE NEED — NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS
Every single item below is required. This is not a wish list:
- Deep, hands-on mechanical knowledge of medium to heavy-duty pickup trucks (1/2-ton through 1-ton)
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing pickup truck systems (engine, drivetrain, brake, electrical, towing/trailer systems)
- Strong working knowledge of towing and hauling — both commercial applications (work trucks, fleets, oil & gas, construction) and recreational (RVs, boat trailers, fifth-wheels)
- Ability to troubleshoot installation problems quickly and accurately under time pressure
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills — you must explain technical issues clearly to both professional technicians and everyday truck owners
- Ability to handle high call and email volume without dropping the ball on quality or accuracy
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- 2+ years of experience with PC computers and the internet
Past experience as a mechanic, service advisor, fleet manager, or dealership parts specialist is the profile we are looking for. If your background doesn’t include direct, hands-on truck work, this role is not for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Answer high-volume inbound phone calls and emails from public customers and dealer/installer accounts regarding parts identification, fitment, and installation troubleshooting
- Diagnose installation issues and provide clear, accurate, and fast solutions
- Accept and process customer orders accurately within system guidelines
- Utilize our CRM to manage customer relationships and document interactions in a transparent, organized manner
- Communicate professionally with product vendors and the shipping department to ensure timely order processing
- Learn and maintain expert-level knowledge of all Pacbrake product lines
- Handle customer complaints professionally, effectively, and efficiently
- Research and stay current on new products and fitment updates
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
Not required, but we’ll take notice:
- Experience using HubSpot CRM — this is the platform we use and knowing it puts you ahead of the field
- Knowledge of oil and gas fleet vehicle requirements
- Experience with e-commerce platforms or order management systems
- Experience in automotive parts sales or counter work
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary commensurate with your actual experience
- Extended health and dental benefits
- RRSP matching
- Tuition reimbursement
- Flexible schedules
- Regular company events (BBQs, sports games, team outings)
- Onsite gym
