TLJ Engineering Consultants seeks to expand its team:

Renowned as a leading mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm in Western Canada, TLJ Engineering specializes in residential multifamily projects for Private Developers across the region. Our portfolio spans diverse developments, including town homes, mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed-use high-rises, offices, retail spaces, and tenant improvements.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Building Mechanical Systems Designer to join our dynamic team! No experience is required - we will provide training. You’ll work with a team to create efficient and sustainable designs that meet industry standards. If you enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in mechanical systems, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing for a variety of building types.
Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layout using industry-standard software and tools.
Create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications that meet project requirements and adhere to applicable codes and standards.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated and coordinated design solutions.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and deliver innovative solutions.
This role reports to the Mechanical Project Lead.

Qualifications:

Preferred experience within the Engineering Consulting industry.
Minimum education requirement includes a Mechanical Engineering Degree or Mechanical Engineering Technologies Diploma.
Fluency in English is mandatory.
Attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, multitasking capabilities, and adaptability to a fast-paced office environment are vital.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring timely project completion.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications is a must; familiarity with Revit is advantageous.
