The Werklund School of Education, Graduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Fall 2026 in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education.

EDER 659.15 - History and Philosophy of Adult Education
Delivery: Online
The purpose of this course is to explore and assess a variety of historical and philosophical trends that have shaped adult and higher education over the years. Through exploring the past, you will be better able to develop, define and articulate your own philosophical approach to the current practice of adult education and higher education, as it relates to your specific context and culture.
Position Requirements:
Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences.
Desired qualifications include:
- A completed doctorate in education or a related area.
- Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings.
- Demonstrated experience in online/distance education.
- Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture.
- Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research are considered assets for the sessional teaching positions.
