Job Overview
Diversified Staffing, Alberta's leading staffing agency is seeking a detail-oriented Jr. Accountant to join our clients team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a dynamic corporate environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience with various accounting software platforms. As a Jr. Accountant, you will support financial operations, ensure accurate record-keeping, and assist with financial analysis to help drive informed business decisions.

Responsibilities include:

Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices
Updating accounts payable and performing reconciliations
Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Processing expense account claims
Assisting with payroll, bank records, etc. as assigned
Updating financial data in databases to ensure that information will be secure, accurate and immediately available when needed
Preparing and submitting weekly/monthly reports
Assisting Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Assisting with annual audit
Assisting with other accounting / finance projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2 years working experience in Accounting / Finance
CPA track qualification a plus but not required
Good with numbers and figures with strong analytical acumen, as well as great attention to detail
QuickBooks experience required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to deadlines
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
